Green Templeton College | College History and University Clothing

Green Templeton College is the second newest graduate college at the University of Oxford, after Reuben College. This was after a historic merger of Green College and Templeton College in 2008. Which was the first of its kind in the university’s modern history!

Green College was founded in 1979 to bring together graduate students of medicine and related disciplines and was named after Cecil H. Green and his wife, Ida Green. Templeton College was founded in 1965 as the Oxford Centre for Management Studies under the chairmanship of Sir Norman Chester. Sir John Templeton provided an endowment to the centre to raise professional standard. This was the largest endowment ever made and the centre was later renamed Templeton College.

The college specialises in subjects relating to human welfare and social, economic and environmental well-being, including medical and health sciences, management and business, and most social sciences. They also offer a wide variety of activities for its students through various clubs and societies.
